Ho Chi Minh City currently has 152 apartment buildings that may pose dangers to their 12,608 inhabitants due to dilapidated conditions, according to a survey by the city’s Department of Construction released Monday.
The ramshackle structures provide a total living space of 618,202 square meters.
Among them, 67 buildings are categorized as seriously decayed requiring urgent repair.
The department has proposed to the city administration to solicit additional investments for reconstructing and renovating at-risk buildings.
