Hanoi office rents tower above major Asian cities
(Listed May 8, 2008)
Short supply has pushed Hanoi office rents above rates in several other Asian capitals, including Beijing and Bangkok.

A recent survey conducted by real estate firm CBRE showed that rents for high-end Hanoi offices averaged US$50 per sq.m. a month, up 28 percent since late last year.

Offices in highly-sought after locations are fetching up to 66 or $70 per sq.m. a month, said the CBRE report.

With the price hike, real estate developers in Vietnam are reaping the benefits of high demand as occupancy stands at 98.6 percent.

Most space is often snapped up as soon as project plans are approved or when ground is broken.

Spaces are usually all spoken for even before a new building’s interior decorations are installed.
