HCMC blacklists two foreign construction consultancies
(Listed May 14, 2008)
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has blacklisted two consultancy companies for two years for their involvement in the construction of a building which structurally affected neighboring building last May.

Hainal-Konyi Vietnam and McKillop Courtyard Vietnam cannot be hired as consultants for any public construction project until November 1, 2009.

The two were involved in the construction of the Saigon Residences building in District 1, and reportedly violated building regulations.

As a result, authorities said, the five-story Nguyen Sieu apartment building next door suddenly began to tilt to the left, forcing around 100 occupants to flee.
