IP workers’ dormitories construction sped up
(Listed Nov 21, 2008)
The HCM City People’s Committee has instructed authorised agencies to clear out investment procedures and build dormitories for workers at industrial parks in the city.

Accordingly, the HCM City Industrial Park and Export Processing Zone Authority (HEPZA) is responsible to deal with investment procedures, evaluate a detailed 1/500 scale plan and basic construction procedures for already-built workers’ dormitories.

The Department of Zoning and Architecture in collaboration with concerned agencies were told to make a master land plan for construction in order to meet workers’ demand for dormitories.

HEPZA is responsible for managing dormitories for workers at industrial parks and export processing zones under the authority.

The Department of Construction in co-ordination with the departments of Zoning and Architecture, Natural Resources and Environment, HEPZA and relevant agencies will consult with the city People’s Committee about supporting policies aimed to call for public participation in building workers’ dormitories.
